Malcolm X's original name was Malcolm Little. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska May 19, 1925.
In 1931 Malcolm's father is ran over by a train (streetcar). He was killed by the streetcar. Malcolm enrolled in Pleasant Grove Elementary School at this time.
In 1938 he was finally going to high school at West Junior High School in Lansing, Michigan.
In 1939 Malcolm's mom was sent to the mental hospital.The mental hospital was in in Kalamazoo. One day when he was in class his teacher asked him what he would like to be when he was all grown up. He Said " I want to be a Lawyer when I grow up". After he said that his teacher said that "you are better off becoming a carpenter". The thought back then was that it is not realistic for you to become a lawyer because you are colored. After all this happened he enrolled into Mason High School in Mason, Michigan.
In 1940 he lived many foster care homes. Later on in that year he went and saw his half-sister in Boston, Mass. while he was hanging out with her he realized how strong and how much of and independent person she is.
In 1941 he ended up moving in with his half sister in Boston.While he is living with her he got many jobs like shoe shinning, dish washing soda jerking, and even sometimes working on the New Haven Railroad.
In 1943 Malcolm was supposed to be drafted by the Army but they denied him due to "mental problems" that some say he did on purpose so he could get out of the draft. He moved to New York at this time from Boston. He moved to Harlem , NY. Malcolm then becomes involved in criminal acts like robbery and petty crimes. He was called "Detroit Red" because of the crimes he did.
In 1944 Malcolm is sent back to Boston for a sentence. He was charged with larceny and is faced a 3 month suspension from New York and a 1 year probation. Then in 1945 Malcolm comes back to Harlem, NY. In 1946 Malcolm is convicted of larceny, breaking and entering, and carrying a weapon. He is sentenced three to ten year in Charlestown Prison. At this time he is trying to read so he can get some form of education.
In 1945 he goes back to Harlem New York.

In 1947 Malcolm X was transferred to Concord Reformatory. He was put there for fifteen months.
In 1948 while he was in jail some of his family members and Elijah Muhammad sent him letters while he was in there. While Malcolm was still in jail he went to be a part of Nation of Islam thanks to all the letters from Elijah Muhammad.
In 1952 Malcolm is released from jail after six years. He was supposted to be in jail for eight to ten years but got out in six. After he is released from jail he finally meets Elijah Muhammad in Chicago.
In 1953 He moves in with Elijah Muhammad in Chicago. The FBI keep their eyes on Malcolm X while he lives with Elijah Muhammad. Malcolm X becomes a Minister for the Nation of Islam Temple Number Eleven which was located in the Boston Area.
In 1954 Malcolm X became the Minister of Temple Number Seven which is located in New York.
In 1955 Malcolm becomes the minister of Temple Number Twelve that is in Philadelphia.
In 1958 he fines Betty Sander who was a nurse. They both are married to each other in January. The have there first kid in November. The first child was a daughter.
In 1959 He had traveled to United Arab, Sudan, and Nigeria. While he was an ambassador for the Nation of Islam, he goes to the Middle East and Ghana.
In 1962 he found out that Elijah Muhammad is an adulterer. This had a big impact on Malcolm X because he realized that he didn't like his own religion as well. Also Malcolm's third child was born it was another daughter.
In 1963 Malcolm watched the March on Washington. The March on Washington started August 28th when Martin Luther king Jr gave his "I have a dream" speech.
In 1964 his fourth daughter Gamilah Shabazz was born in December. Malcolm comes back to the U.S. When he did come back he had better thoughts about the white people. When he was back he came up with the Afro-American Unity. In the year he meet Martin Luther King Jr for the first and his only time after the press conference.
In 1965 Malcolm X's house was fire bombed on February 14th in the morning but no one was home. But 7 days later while Malcolm X was making an address at the Audubon Ballroom, at 3:10, he was shot multiple times in the chest. He announced dead on the way to Vanderbilt Clinic. For Malcolm's Funeral he was brought to Bishop Alvin A. Child's Faith Temple church of God in Christ. there were over 20,000 people that attended Malcolm's funeral. Bishop Child's and his family were constantly threatened at their house and also at there church for holding Malcolm X's Funeral. After he died on September 30, 1965 his twin daughters Malikah Shabazz and Malaak Shabazz were born.
In 1997 Betty Shabazz who was Malcolm X's wife dies in a fire that was allegedly set by her grandson Malcolm. Her grandson Malcolm was named after Malcolm X. Betty Shabazz is the only person that Malcolm would ever trust with his life.
